Every Olympic athlete, self-made millionaire, self-made billionaire, CEO and in my case Six-Time Gold Medalist knows that you don’t do it alone. Yes, there are moments along the road to success where you may appear to be doing it alone, like the moment of crossing the finish line or standing atop the medal podium or standing on stage as a profession public speaker influence lives, but the truth is that was not the moment that created the success. That is just the moment that the success is realized.
Along the same vein there are not any over night success. Success is a long process that some times results in the overnight realization of success.
In both these scenarios there are many people along the way that helped to create the opportunities to realize the eventual moment of success.
And yesterday was no different, when I reached out to my social network and asked people to send my son birthday wishes for his 10th birthday by posting comments to his blog. Because the village stepped up he had a number of people leave birthday messages (and more still coming in) on his blog, which he thought was the coolest thing.
Remember you don’t become a success on your own, “It Takes a Village”. Reach out to the village when you are in need of help, and become the village to help others reach their desired success.
